Our temporary wallpaper has a Class A Fire Rating. Fire ratings pertain to how quickly wallpaper burns in the event of smoke or fire. While wallpaper will certainly burn, ratings correlate to how quickly the fire may spread. There are three classifications, A, B, and C.
All wallpapers must undergo thorough testing to be certified according to NSF/ANSI 342. The product must demonstrate certain burning characteristics that are common to other types of building materials. The test mimics the conditions of a fire by applying gas flames to installed wallpaper, and measures how fast the fire spreads and how it travels. The lower the score, the longer it takes fire to reach the top of the paper. To achieve a Class A rating, this means that it has a FSR of 0 to 25, making it able to withstand fire for longer than any of the other classifications.
